Winter is losing its grip.
The final days are here, but much like any good Icelander winter doesn't let go without a fight. But before we enter the beauty of spring and the colours of sommer let us take a moment to enjoy the exhilarating beauty that winter has to offer.

A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject.
- Winston Churchill
The subject is graffiti. I personally think that 99% of all graffiti is crap and as such is an eyesore. I however don't mind seeing graffiti that is well done and actually artistic or in some way striking, well of course given that it isn't destruction of private property...
Below are some initial samples I'll add more as I find all the hidden graffiti that Reykjavik has to offer. Don't expect too much Reykjavik, graffiti isn't all that amazing. Some decent samples below, well aside from perhaps the last one, which was probably done by a first year, physics student.
People are the defining character of each city. BloggingReykjavik will not only focus on the city structure, nature but also on those who live here. A first in a series: A day in a life, dresscode Reykjavik

You know you are on a good photo shoot when you can no longer feel your fingers and the wind is threatening to blow you off the rock you finally managed to step up on. Consequently this is the time to stop. The northern wind is frequently quite strong in Reykjavik and the spray washes cars and buildings alike giving windows that interesting dirty feel to them. This was only a moderate wind.

The Reykjavik shorefront is rapidly changing shape these days, many old buildings and new luxury apartments are being built, and various buildings have been criticized for being eyesores. These are amongst those. The complex is very modern and very luxurious but ugly to look at some claim. They look pretty good when cropped correctly if nothing else
