And Reykjavik wasn't either, but it is being built these days. Those of you who thought that we had enough houses in the concrete jungle we like to call our capital you thought wrong. Not only are many new suburbs being added to the city the entire suburb is added at once. Every street, every wire in the ground (including fiber optics, hey we have surpassed South Korea as the broad band capital of the world !!!) And even the silly silly street names. A group of wise men (probably with some alcohol) sit down and dream up these new names. Here are some examples, trust me they sound even as silly to those of us who speak the language:
Muririmi (sounds like Japanese ritual suicide, according to one of Iceland's best known comedians)
VÃnlandsleið
Fjallakór (literally mountain choir)
And so on and so forth! I wonder what they will call the dear old streets in this new neighborhood.
