These municipal workers were cleaning up this hill and getting it ready to put grass on, workers are running around Reykjavik these days frantically sticking down flowers, trees, grass and anything else to make the city a bit brighter and more presentable.
Its the same routine every summer, more grass, new trees and flowers. Even the roads get done up since the
studded tires have managed to tear them appart.
During the summer most 8th to 10th graders work for about 6 weeks for the city, cleaning up the sidewalks, painting fences and generally cleaning up the mess they leave during the winter months. Working in the summer is a very common thing for school children since they get 2.5 months off every year.
