Blogging Reykjavik

This is an old Viking game that has been preserved in Russia. The game has traditionally been played with spears or large logs ( liable to kill the players due to shear weight and momentum ). This version is played by colorful sticks by 4 girls, Have a look, you might be able to teach your children this game, taking them away from the computer ( with exception of their daily fix of BloggingReykjavik of course )

These musicians were a bit more liberal in their interpretation of the music; trancelike is how I would describe it. This and mushrooms might have been contributing factors to the creation of Berzerkers, those infamous Viking warriors. Oh well what people didn't do for the honor of Odin and Thor and all the other gods.

One in between Viking moments

Waiting for the bus is something that Icelanders seldom do. Aside from North America Iceland is probably one of the most car centric countries in the world.

There are a few reasons for this,

1. No trains
2. Long distances
3. A people that loves its independence

Loves its independence and freedom so much that they actually never really indicate when turning in traffic because it is not reasonable that anybody else knows where you are going.

Anyway thankfully there are very few of us and our general energy needs are met by hydro and geothermal energy because if not this would probably be one of the most polluting countries in the world per capita.

However once we have set up our hydrogen future we can drive around with a clear conscience

Teaching the young to fight is a must in a Viking society. We might not plunder and pillage like in the days of old but international mergers need strong bones too and it is worth yielding a sword at such an occasion.
