Fire hydrants come in many shapes and colors through out the world. This one is blue and strangely I find it has more appeal the the regular yellow or red ones. Lets just hope it works whatever the thoughts about it which color it should be.

Mosfellsbær,
Small town close to Reykjavik. Really a sleepy computer town - This I know will upset a few of my fellow Icelanders who live in this wonderful town but it is true. Not much happens in Mosfellsbær. Crime is reported in the news from other towns but never Mosfellsbær. affluent, open and observant neighborhood that really seems to stick with its own.
These two bus stops are how they like to do things in Mosfellsbær. Fitting in with the landscape, nice and green.

Iceland is a land of few trees as noted before, due to this birds in Iceland have to use unusual methods to gain overview of a given situation. In other countries electricity lines or trees get selected but in Iceland it is lamp posts.
In a country with only 1,3% forested area and one of the best street lighting systems in the world this is a win-win situation

Pete Seeger´s famous song, where have all the flowers gone could really have been where have all the trees gone if he had been to Iceland. This ladies and gentlemen is an Icelandic forest. Hence the age old joke: What do you do if you are lost in a forest in Iceland? - You stand up.
