There are a few items which are a must for Icelanders

- Large Jeeps
- Flat screen TV's
- Summer houses

Traveling out of Reykjavik in search for the ideal holiday, either staying in a cottage, tent or a summerhouse. Within an hour from Reykjavik entire new communities are forming based around weekends and the summer period. It is even going so far that every summer house must be hooked up to the internet. It is no longer enough to have a hot tub, fridge, dishwasher and satellite TV. Summer houses have become second homes with all the expenses and luxuries that entails.
