Kolaportið is one of those special places down town Reykjavik. You can enter the building through three main doors, one facing the harbour one facing down town and one facing the alley next to Hafnarhúsið the Reykjavik art museum dedicated to Erró.
As with any good flea markets you can find almost anything here. Traditional Icelandic food such as fermented shark, dried fish, sheep heads, sour sheep testicles and even food with international appeal such as fresh fish and candy. Other sections are dedicated to videos, DVDs, books, clothes, stamps, military surplus gear and furniture to name a few things.
If you are in Reykjavik around a weekend drop by between 11 and 17 and take in the madness.
Location Tryggvagata 19, if in doubt just ask anyone.
